3-day shipping!

I've never noticed this before. Netflix shipped Don't Look Now to me on Tuesday and gave it an estimated arrival date of Friday. I live in Greensboro, NC. My guess is that the disc is coming from San Jose, CA.

  1. You really have been lucky the last few years with NF if you've never been throttled AND have never had more than a 2 day shipping estimate!

I've noticed that new, popular movies that say "short wait" beside them generally come from a location other than my normal distribution center. Let us know where this one came from.

  2. I agree with Rachel. You must have been born under a lucky star not to have seen 3- or even 4-day shipping estimates before! In the past year I've had 6 discs shipped from west coast DCs. That said, even east coast DVDs can take 3 days to reach my old Kentucky home.

  3. I've noticed stuff coming from San Jose, CA, before, but I have not noticed the shipping estimate taking that into account. Perhaps I'm not very observant :). I stopped looking at shipping estimates a long time ago, when I realized that they were basically meaningless. They would always estimate two days, when I would always get stuff the next day. Maybe they've become more accurate without me noticing.

  4. I live in Brooklyn, NY and Flushing, NY (Queens) is the nearest return place. Everyone in NYC generally has good return turnover/return. I have had some really slow shipping times. I recently went from 8 at a time back down to 4. I was sick but now I am busy and back at work. I do think I have been throttled in the past but as I have said in topics related to that and the lawsuits I enjoy not going into an actual video store so much I will put up with it for the time being.
