I searched Netflix.com for The Great Gatsby, because I just saw the Baz Luhrmann version, and wanted to rate it, and the fifth result was Hemlock Grove, a Netflix Original Series. Coincidence?
Not surprising at all. I searched for Gatsby and the FRIST TWO results were 'Orange Is the New Black' and 'Hemlock Grove' and the 1974 version of Gatsby. Netflix is a business trying to push their original series. Can you fault them for that? Name any other premium video service that doesn't do the same thing.
I don't fault them for it. I'm a capitalist. I'm saying I used to trust their recommendations, and I don't anymore, if they're recommending their own content.
