Smarter searching at Netflix

Faithful reader Matt has a great suggestion for finding TV shows on Netflix. Use the search term "season 1" to find every TV show on Netflix, without having to know the exact title.

Can you think of any TV shows that this wouldn't work for, that don't have a "season 1" in their name?

What if the title uses "Complete First Season" instead?

Sure — anything that didn't last more than one season, but nevertheless got onto DVD, e.g., "Wonderfalls."

And why does the search bring up Season 5 of Six Feet Under?

There is also "Firefly" and "Freaks & Geeks". Nevertheless, the tip is a handy one indeed!

That won't work for a lot of British TV shows. Here's some of the keywords I see in my queue:

    Series 1
    The Complete Set
    Complete Collection
    Complete 1-3
    Complete Series
    Part 1
    Volume 1
    Vol. 1
    Vols. 1-3
    Set 1

I'm thoroughly enjoying Season 1 of the original series "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea". It's so bad it's good!
