Breaking the Waves

After being "release date unknown" at Netflix forever, Breaking the Waves (1996) suddenly became available last week with a September 1 release date. It now has a short wait. It is a Dogme 95 film by Lars von Trier. This film has a very long wait at Greencine, Nicheflix, and Blockbuster Online.

    Breaking the waves isn't actually a Dogme 95 film even though it was directed by Dogme 95's co-creater Lars von Trier. The only Dogme 95 film directed by Trier was The Idiots.

    It is a Dogme 95 film according to Netflix. If you think it is incorrect, please notify their Webmaster to make a correction to the movie's description.

    I didn't even realize this movie was unavailable. This is strange - I've seen this movie several years ago (3+) THROUGH Netflix.

    It is common for movies to occasionally go out of print. It's available from Netflix now.
