  1. What I've experienced is a decline in service. Wouldn't it be nice if Netflix gave a little back to their customers in the form of improved service. Case in point: Almost 1 year ago I had Revolutionary Girl Utena vol. 7 in my queue. For over a month this title stayed in my queue as awaiting release. This was not a new release. Netflix simply did not restock their inventory. I gave up waiting, ran out to Media Play and bought it so I could continue this series. All this time has passed and Netflix still doesn't own it. It's not like it's not a popular series. Plastering the World Wide Web with banner ads does not make a service great.

  2. I've experienced that problem with some classic American and foreign films, too. They are available on Region 1 DVD, but Netflix doesn't have them. I have had to rent them from brick & mortar stores, Greencine, or Nicheflix. They must be rare, too, because I find them on Amazon.com selling for more than $30. The problem could be a limitation on the licensing deal between Netflix and the distributor, if the distributor limits the number of copies Netflix can have (or make).

  3. that's funny, my service gets better and better.

Netflix recently built a warehouse in my city so now shipping is super-fast. and when you've got ~400 movies in queue (as i do), if one gets dropped occasionally, it's really not a big deal.

... i almost forgot to mention the price drop, from ~$22/month to ~$18/month. i definitely can't complain :)
