Ode to Netflix

Even through all of the drug abuse
emotional and physical neglect
emotional and physical abuse

through the poor times
through the times of abundance
adultery and divorce

even when my father locked himself
in the bathroom for a week
even when my mother met strange men
on the internet and slept with them
in her wedding dress

even when my father built the
baseball diamond in the backyard
even when my mother organized a union
at her factory

even through all the numerous
psychological dysfunctions
the biggest fights my family ever had
were over late fees and overdue movies.
