I couldn't find out how many titles they have, but I guess about 3000. The library is small because the films have to be edited first.

Family Edited Movies are backup copies of popular Hollywood DVD titles that have been edited to remove nudity and sexual situations, offensive language, and graphic violence.

  1. My God, this is nothing but an advertisment for Netflix. I hope you're getting paid for this.

  3. After they remove all that objectionable stuff, is there anything left to show?

  4. No cussing! That's why I just rented Smokey & the Bandits, so I could hear an uncensored Jackie Gleason, "I'm going to bbq your &*%# in molasses!"

  5. I think CleanFilms are good for families with children in the home who don't want to wait until after they are asleep before watching a movie. Or get a babysitter to go out to the movies.

  6. No, it's not censorship when practiced by individuals. Individuals, like you and I, have every right to control the amount of obscenities we're exposed to. And we're allowed to determine for ourselves what is "obscenity".

  7. These companies are now being sued for copyright infringment for editing the film in a way that the studios don't like. See my rant at

  8. I just think the idea is stupid. If the film is unsuitable in its content, you would not show it with kids around anyway and taking out cussing and what not probably is not going to change adult only content. Most parents (like me)put adult stuff on after the kids go to bed or are out of the house or something.

As a business proposition, thats a lot of work to sell the product. I think the business model is dumb. There are easier ways to get around that problem.

  9. I think cleanfilms.com is a great company and offers something in addition to what every other internet dvd rental company offers. You can sit down and watch a film without having to cover your childrens eyes and worry about what they may see. Though their selection is growing they offer almost every new release that has come out in the last three years and many other films as well. I would chose cleanfilms.com before any other online dve rental club any day.
