I'm getting behind

I watched only 45 feature-length movies in January. I'm getting way behind on my goal to average two per day in 2006. To see if I could catch up, I took my personal DVD player to the laundromat last night.

Turns out, the tiny screen of a portable player is lousy for watching good films. I do not recommend it. What I ended up watching was 1.5 hours of the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm: Season 4 on DVD, using my Blockbuster Online in-store coupons. I know it's not on my list of must-see movies, but the sitcom format doesn't lose anything on the small screen.

  1. I have a new 7-inch Panasonic portable DVD player and the movie looks excellent on the portable DVD screen. You could also buy one of those new 10-inch portable DVD players.

  2. I don't know. So much detail was lost, it was hard to follow the plot.

  3. My 17" PowerBook does the trick pretty well. I usually can squeeze out a reasonably lengthed movie on a full charge and the speakers are listen-to-able.

It's also nice to watch in bed before falling asleep. Yes, I sleep with my PowerBook.

  4. When I travel, I use my daughter's portable DVD player. It is different, but in many ways I like the change of pace.
